All We Can Save Book Club

We’ll read All We Can Save, a book that intermixes essays and poetry from women at the forefront of the climate movement. Attend any session to discuss and build community around solutions. All are welcome. Books available if needed.

Learn to identify buckthorn in various stages of growth and its impacts on our ecosystems and economy. Bring a phone or camera if you want to take pictures of specimens we identify and remember to wear pants and closed-toe shoes. After learning to identify buckthorn together, we will put our skills to the test and walk around the park identifying the plant.

Join us for a family-friendly event where birders of all experience levels team up to count as many species of birds as possible. Let’s hit the trails and try to break the current record of 93 species!

Spring Work Party in Rochester

RESCHEDULED --- Join the Rochester IKES and Conservation Minnesota to honor Earth Day with a buckthorn cutting and pulling party. Bring gloves, loppers and/or hand saws, water, protective eyewear, and sturdy shoes.

As part of the Seasonal Saturday event at Minnesota Marine Art Museum, Conservation Minnesota will be hosting a build your own bird feeder activity! We will also have coloring pages celebrating the birds of Migratory Bird Day, which coincides with Seasonal Saturday.

Learn more about pollinator-friendly lawn care. We’ll talk about all the different ways you can decrease your lawn maintenance effort, help native insects and plants, and support your gorgeous lawn. All attendees will receive native plant seeds to take home.

Understanding Carbon Markets

Learn about carbon markets and what “net zero” emissions claims mean. We’ll put into perspective how true emissions reductions compare to an offsetting approach and clear the confusion about how to use one of our most powerful tools available to the general public: purchasing power.
