In order to support increased accessibility and viability for zero-emissions electric vehicles, Minnesota needs to build out electric vehicle charging infrastructure. However, this amendment prevents the State from installing convenient charging stations at rest stops and precludes the use of incoming federal funding through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act on public electric vehicle charging stations. This amendment holds up the build out of EV infrastructure and limits the ease of electric vehicle use in Minnesota.
