In 2023, Minnesotans passed the 100% Clean Energy Standard, a landmark step toward tackling the climate crisis. The 100% Standard requires all electric utilities in Minnesota to produce only carbon-free energy by 2040 using sources like solar, wind, and battery storage. This means less pollution and more good-paying clean energy jobs, all while lowering energy costs for Minnesota families.
Unfortunately, changes are currently being proposed at the state legislature that would create carve-outs and exemptions in the law, weakening the standard.
Conservation Minnesota is working to protect our progress on clean energy. Let your legislators know you’re 100% behind the 100% Clean Energy Standard. Now is not the time to move backward on clean energy.
